Ingredients

For the Pastry:

. 2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed
. 1 egg (for egg wash)

For the Filling:

. 250g (½ lb) ground beef or chicken
. 1 small onion, finely chopped
. 2 cloves garlic, minced
. ½ tsp salt
. ½ tsp black pepper
. ½ tsp paprika (optional, for a smoky taste)
. ½ tsp oregano or thyme
. ½ cup grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or feta)
. 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

Optional Additions:

. Chopped spinach or parsley for freshness
. Chili flakes for spice
. A spoonful of cream cheese for extra creaminess

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Filling

1 . Heat a pan over medium heat. Add olive oil or butter.
2 . Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft.
3 . Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
4 . Add the ground meat, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned.
5 . Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano. Stir well.
6 . Once cooked, remove from heat and mix in grated cheese. Let it cool.

Step 2: Prepare the Pastry

1 . Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut them into squares (about 3×3 inches each).
2 . Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each square.
3 . Fold the corners up to seal the parcels, pinching the edges together.
4 . Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.

Step 3: Bake the Parcels

1 . Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
2 . Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place the parcels on it.
3 . Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

. Serve them hot with a side of yogurt sauce, tomato dip, or spicy mayo.
